Being a member of the Board of Directors of Opening Doors has been an honor as well as a testament to creating a vision for change.  Since facilitating the very first Opening Doors: A Personal and Professional Journey retreat in 1992 there have been literally hundreds of people involved with moving this work forward.  People who gave of their time and their good thinking about how to continually improve the experience for participants. This collective work over 30+ years has led us to the creation of the Opening Doors Institute in 2023 and now as a Board member I get to work with a great team of facilitators and past participants who are now also Board Directors alongside me.   This team is continuing this same mission to keep Opening Doors workshops vibrant, applicable, and updated and to do whatever it takes to make them the best workshops we can.  This is now the new iteration of this long history of collective visioning, thinking and practice and my work as President of the Board is to give support to this happening.  Most of my experience has been in building professional facilitation skills not in being a member of a Board of Directors, so I rely heavily on the experience of our other Board Members and we have created a co-learning environment on the Board.
